Edda then defends the Dragonborn out of gratitude by needlessly killing Grelod.
It's more hilarious when you interpret the act as the Dragonborn mercifully trying to scare Grelod out of town, only for Edda (to whom they just gave a measly septim) to misinterpret the situation as a terrified, fleeing crone attacking the all-powerful, fearless Dragonborn. They can still take credit for manslaughter while Edda gets away with murder and is never recognised for unintentionally liberating an orphanage. It's hilarious to think the prophesied Listener of the Night Mother was a just random person who just happened to be around when a beggar stabbed an old crone to death. Edda's AI will chase after Grelod and kill her in defence of the Dragonborn. One way to kill Grelod is to donate money to Edda the beggar and use a fear spell to chase Grelod out of the orphanage. Nice job impressing upon those lovable little tykes the virtues of wanton murder. interesting event such as, say, a Khajiit wearing nothing but some underthings running up to Grelod mid-speech, picking her up, and German Suplexing her into the floor face first, killing her instantly, before fleeing out the back door. Should you choose to kill her during this speech, you could be responsible for an. Bonus points for punching her, because this will almost always trigger an unarmed killing move, which means a tiny Breton mage or a lithe Khajiit thief will suddenly pick up an old woman and body slam or German suplex her into the floor! Also bear in mind that during this mission, she is out in the open giving a scathing speech to all the orphans about how they're all worthless and will never be adopted. This includes throwing things at her, smacking her with a wooden sword, stabbing her with a fork, dropping an object on her, and punching her. Anything that deals damage will instantly kill her. Note that during this mission, Grelod the Kind has literally one hitpoint. After killing the woman, town guards will start asking if you heard that the old lady who ran the orphanage in Riften was murdered, then speculate that the children there must be heartbroken. On the mission to join the Dark Brotherhood, you'll be given the mission from a child, who asks you to kill a cruel old woman who runs an orphanage. And it keeps up through the entire questline, becoming something of a Running Gag itself. Reactions range from being creeped out, genuinely impressed, or just plain annoyed at you. To start, many of the major dialogue choices include at least one option to literally just " Glare Silently" at the speaker.
The Dark Brotherhood questline has plenty:.Doubly funny if you managed to execute him directly in front of the throne. Visiting the Palace after the fact, you'll find that his naked (if you chose to loot his body) corpse is still there.
If you side with the Imperials during the Civil War, Ulfric will be executed in the Palace of Kings.
Unless you advance the Dark Brotherhood plotline, you can go back several days later and find that the guard is really dragging their feet concerning actually putting him in a cell but should you speak to the guard, he'll still claim that the arrest is imminent.
Things also get amusing if you choose to lie to a guard to get Cicero arrested. When you pass by the farm again while doing other quests, Cicero will still be there, waiting for his wheel to get fixed. When you have convinced Loreius, try not joining the Dark Brotherhood. He has tools! He can help me! But he won't! He refuses! Convince Loreius to fix my wheel! Do that, and poor Cicero will reward you. Oh yes! Yes, the kindly stranger can certainly help! Go to the farm - the Loreius Farm. aggh! WAGON WHEEL! DAMNEDEST WAGON WHEEL! It broke! Don't you see? Oh.
Can't you see? I was transporting my dear, sweet mother. At rest, but too still! Poor Cicero is stuck. Cicero: Agh! Bother and befuddle! Stuck here! STUCK! My mother, my poor mother.
